What is the DVD drive? Not sure if that is the same thing in my mind. I can use USB flash drive, Hard drive with that port for USB sharing, but not sure if your DVD driver can be used in that way....

Do you have a modem? And is the WAN IP address of the Archer C1200 a public IP? If the Archer C1200 gets private IP address, then you need to open port 1723 on your modem for the router.
