@terziyski yeah, it did work this way for at least 6 month. and it had anough power to show lights and lan activity as well as power up a drive... odd ... fixed though. Thanks for reply.

@terziyski that got me thinking maybe its RPI itself. I was using while powered via AX5400 usb. Post checking i decided to connect RPI with its own power adepter. All works now :/ i suspect post AX...
