Ceiling fan switch
I was wondering if TP-Link is working on a ceiling fan switch (hoping with light control)? I don't like any of the smart fans out there and I refuse to buy any smart switches that require a hub.

@ZioJim Agree. Need a dedicated ceiling fan switch. I will take 7 of them. Come on TP-LINK get with the program!

I finally gave up waiting and bought some treatlife switches. Both the fan-only and the fan-plus-dimmer switches work well and seem to have a comparable quality to kasa. However the protrusion from the wall doesn't match kasa switches. Just means now I have to replace a few kasa light switches with treatlife so the switches on those boxes all match.
I had actually enjoyed having all tplink switches but bring so slow to the market on fan controls meant I had to branch out and start moving to another brand.

Man Prime Day is here and KS240 is still not available. Although I prefer a dedicated ceiling fan switch, I do have one location where the KS240 would work so I figured I would give it a try.

@RojasNet2 Crazy that it is STILL not here, but announced almost a year ago.
I'm still waiting gleefully though! ;)

This is no way to treat your customers..... We've been in the dark for months now and you won't even give us any sort of hint about anything!
I seriously regret buying Kasa devices if this is how you're going to handle these things...

Hmm, that's not a great design. Picture coming into the room at night and wanting to turn the light on. No physical buttons and the fan touch is incredibly close to the light touch. If they were physical buttons you could at least employ tactile positioning before pressing, but not with capacitative touch buttons.
Odds of turning on the fan by accident are too high to be acceptable for manual use in a high traffic room.

As I posted in the release thread, unfortunately the UI on the KS240 is *completely* different than every other Kasa switch.
My spouse was cool to the whole automation deal, but eventually came to appreciate
the simplicity of simply pushing anywhere on a switch, including 3-way switches.
This switch breaks that paradigm.
It requires pressing in a small, specific location on the switch, rather than anywhere.
Plus, all three of our fan switches are co-located with 2-3 other switches.
While the KS240 solves a problem for fans with lights, in our case the fans do *NOT* have lights.
Except for three classic Hunter fans, our entire house is wired with Kasa switches.
51 total, including nine 3-way satellites. The fans are not compatible with the HS220.
Can we please get an HS220 equivalent for fans?

@cdb95014 spot on. Form factor of HS220 for adjustable fan switches is what I'm hoping and holding out for.
