3 way Dimmer switch?
Does TP-Link have any plans in the near future to release a 3-way dimmer switch? I have the HS200 and HS220. I would love it if the HS220 had the 3Way capability.

from the description, it seems to be incapable of working with Hs210.
highly disappointed! ☹️
I have deployed a couple of hs210 switches and waiting for ks230 to the market...
Now I need to look for alternative solutions.

Sadly that does look to be the case. The wiring for the two switches in the KS230M is slightly differnet than the wiring on the HS210. Where in a HS210 Kit the two switches are identical can be either load or live and can work with a manual switch. The KS230M are not. One is specific to be the Load side and one is Specific to be the Live side and do need to be used in tandem with each other.

@Carl Hi Carl
That is unfortunate. At least one of my three 3-way setups does not have a neutral wire at one end. Thus, I was hoping it would be possible to use a HS230 in tandem with a dumb switch.
So, a quick question, is it definitely the case that a live side HS230 won't work with a dumb switch, or is this merely an unsupported or untested configuration that might work (as appears to be the case with the HS210)?
Thanks

I have neutral wires throughout, but several 4-way circuits. Will the KS230 kit work with one on either end?

@jbr439 This thing has been vaporware for 2+ years now.

Not at all. The product was just annouced officially this past January at CES. Scheudled right now in the US the product looks to be launching in the middle of September.

We do not yet know. The product is designed for a 3-way circuit but as with the HS210 it may work with a 4-way. However the difference is that the KS230 requires both plugs to be used. I would assume if you put the Live unit on the live side of the cirucit and the Load unit on the end of the circuit it should work but we would have to get back to you on that.

Actually looking at some new information from the system team the installation will look like this. It appears the satellite switch or load side is a dummy switch so there for it does not need the neutral wire. If that is the case that while the switches are intended to be used together there is a chance it can be used without installing the satellite switch.

Thanks Carl. Other 3-way smart switches I've worked with do work on either end of a 4-way as long as you've got a neutral, the main switch is on the line side, and the dummy on the load side. I'm hoping the KS230 is the same. I can't wait to get my hands on it.
You're in a tough position. People like myself have been hoping for a 3-way switch for at least a couple of years. If you don't say anything they get angry. If you try to give a "possible" date (like late August) and don't make it, they get angry. I agree that the official company release was at CES. Thanks for giving us as much info as you can in the meantime.
