Hi Melody. The issue is wiring. The two black wires must be seperate. If you only have 1 live wire in the wall the HS200 cannot be used. Also you deffiantly want to advoid putting the green wire to the neutral in your wall. On The HS200 Green is gound. now that might have been a typo as you stated you put white to white, but its better safe than sorry.
The reason the two black wires must be seperate is that although both wires are live 1 acts as the load and the other acts as the power. the HS200 requires them to be seperate.
Best Regards

We don't have one. All of our switches require the load and live wires to be seperately connected. The HS210 even does this by having one unit carry the load and the other the live.

No sorry I don't know a brand that does. I know a well known brand is Lutron so they might but it also may be that same as us.

That is ignorant, so in order to use these switches we have to rewire our houses. Awesome! Thanks TP-Link for mentioning that in big giant leters before I bought this garbage. Excellent product.

hi,
It seems that I am having the same issue where I plug the live black wire to two of the black wire on the switch. Now if I read this correctly you said to split the live wire in 2 to connect two black wire that's on the switch?

If you have only a single wire in the wall then the HS200 cannot be used in that receptacle. the Live (line) and Load wires in the wall have to be seperate wires.

@Melody10 So based on what I've read these switches will NOT work in most houses as light switches only need 1 black line not 2 ! What a stupid design!
