Model: KC400
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 2.3.8

The product description states that you can create actions with the Kasa KC401 indoor security camera.

However, when I try to create an action it says I first have to add a device.

The FAQ does not list the KC401 and the model drop down menu on the website/forums does not list the KC401.

I had to choose KC400 for this post because only the KC400 is listed. Not the KC401? I have the KC401.

Can somebody please advise?

EDIT: Does anybody know the difference between the KC400 and the KC401?

I am thinking of just returning the KC401 and getting either a KC400 or EC60 (as I cannot tell any difference between the two?).

Thank you!

Hello @minema

KC400 and KC401 are the same model being sold on different retailer channels, they both support Smart Action,

When using Smart Action- Motion Sensing (When a Kasa Camera sensed a motion, turn on a Smart Plug, Bulb or Switch.) it requires you have a kasa camera +another smart device like plug/switch/bulb that supports this feature.

Can i have a photo if you met any trouble set up smart action? What is the Kasa APP version?

Thank you for your feedback  FAQ and forum model, we will check with related team to update the supported-model later.
