I've purchased several 3-way dimmer kits (KS230) and have success with one set out of three that I've attempted to install. I reached out to support to be told a supervisor would be calling me to help resolve my issues. I've read and followed instructions on the tp-link website as well as watched YouTube videos for instructions. Still no success. Is it possible to get the updated version sent to me to try to see if that solves my issues?

  @Riley_S when I look on Amazon I see a "new version" for $54.99 now advertised. Is that this new v2 version?

  @Riley_S does the version 2 still have single kit (1 Main switch and 1 Satellite switch) limitation. Can the version 2 be used in a 3 or 4 tree pole switch configuration?

Yes, Main and satellite. However there is no longer any polarity on the travelers.

This is only for a two switch dimmer circuit. A three or four way is not possible, those are electrically different circuit configurations.

Sir, the KS230 V1 had some hardware problems that had been pledged to be corrected in V2.  No mention of same in announcement.  I've been avoiding the KS230 while awaiting the more stable hardware version.   Does any of this ring a bell, and did whatever those root problems were get corrected as committed?  ( I want to say Carl had spoken to this in the past).

So i have not had hands on the product myself but I have been told by my engineering and QA departments that all features now work, and should be working without issue.  The KS230 V2 did also change the physical wiring scheme of the satellite unit.  All features that were advertised on the V1 should be on V2 with one exception.  The double-tap feature that was originally advertised on V1 was permentatly removed and is not available on V2, however the customizable long press feature is. 

  @Carl I've installed almost a dozen normal Kasa Smart Dimmers without issue.  I've now gone through 4 V1.8 and all but 2 was DOA.  1 worked until a firmware upgrade fried it.  Is Kasa/TP-Link offering any discounts to us non-official Beta testers?  Wasted easily 5 or 6 hours of my life.

Sir, should these not now work on 4-way circuits?  You did say the travelers are no longer longer orientation sensitive right?  A proper 4-way switch switch is simply flipping the travelers between each other when switched.  To break that you'd literally have to carry non-standard voltage or signaling down the travelers instead of using Wi-Fi to signal state changes.   Hard to believe anybody would do that, but you tell me.
