KS230 in a 4-way switch
EDIT - This post originally referenced a way to use a KS230 in a 3-way environment.
However this only worked with the old V1 style. As of 2024 they have changed to V2 and this method no longer works. I'm not aware of any way to make a 4-way dimmer work.
TP-Link -- it's ridiculous and self defeating that you don't offer this. It's extremely common for houses to have four-way or more switches. Especially people that are spending extra money on fancy smart switches.

I just bought a new HS210 earlier this
month on Amazon. I was able to install just one HS210 on the load side and I got full control and feedback on the app in a 4 way situation.
In the older units - I needed to install a HS210 on both end to make it work correctly in the app for the feedback.
I am still struggling on the dimmers in a 4 way situation.
I am still investigating.
I have read these posts- but need a good diagram on splicing in a satellite where the four-way switch would be. I'm still a little confused on that.
Hope this helps you
Jeff

@jprah You need the HS210Kit or Single 3-Ways without dimmer. I fought and lost with the Dimmable 3-Way. The Dimmable version does not operate as a standard 3-way since it also communicates the dimmer status over the pair. The non-dimmable 3-ways work well with standard 3 or 4-way switches. I am an Electrician.

Yup that's whats what I did. Have 2 smart switches non dimmers and the original 4 way. Works fine just doesn't dim.

@smarcus3 For some reason, I can do the same with just one (HS210) 3 way installed and all works fine.

My electrician just deleted one of my switches (we didnt really use it) and turned the circuit into a three-way dimmer and it works...needed the dimming function.
