  @xjsimon Really hoping to see an update put out for the XE5300 soon, still on 1.2.1, 20230601.

  @WYLDSTALLYNS What hardware version are you on? If you are on 1.6, this firmware should work for you.

It's a link to 1.2.8 if you want to try it. It's quite a bit more stable than 1.2.7 for me, but definitely not perfect.

  @xjsimon Believe my hardware version is 2.6. Bought it recently at Costco.

1.2.8 doesn't work either.  It starts off looking like it fixes the stability issues, but then everything goes downhill within 24 hours.  My units did not show 1.2.8 as avilable either, I had to manually download and install it.

  @DreadKnight

Yep, I had the same problem with 1.2.8. After running it for a few days of instability I could make a random little config change and suddenly it became stable again for a day or two. No rhyme or reason to the config change, but I'm certain just simple reboots did not clear things up for me.

TPLink wanted me to go back on the beta 1.2.9 firmware so I decided to try that again. It is a pain to get all units upgrade to this version. Some of the deco units had to be power cycled a couple times to get back and running and connected after the upgrade.

I've been on that 1.2.9 version now for a week or so and I would say it's quite a bit more stable. After initially loading the firmware everything did seem unstable still, but after a few hours it did seem to clear up and it's been pretty good - not perfect. Definitely way better than 1.2.7 and 1.2.8 - I think. There are still times where some of my devices don't connect immediately, but it's not as bad as it used to be. I still have not enabled IOT or Guest networks as I'm trying to avoid the bugs with having these networks running. So I'm not sure if TPLink made any fixes to these since v 1.2.8.

I have one other suspect and that is the system log. Seems like a couple times after clearing out the log that things become more responsive for a while afterwards. This has happened twice, so not sure if that's more than coincidence at this point. If anyone wants to do some testing of that, it would be good to see if that makes a difference on other people's networks.

Anyway, that's the latest from my side.

 Check the bottom. I was at Costco recently and saw that v1.6 was mixed in with boxes of v2.6.

I too had to manually do the 1.2.8 upgrade. It never showed up in the app for me. The manual update when fine. Results for me remain unclear.

I've always wondered why they had the scheduled reboot feature in the app. Maybe it's there for a reason and these things need a frequent reboot to remain operating properly.

  @Holocron

Mine is 1.6. I also purchased it at Costco, last year November.

I checked with Costco and it's still good for return. I will call in to tech support. If they can't help me I'm going to return it to Costco.

  @Holocron

I've used the scheduled reboot, but I disabled it as I've noticed it can sometimes take a few hours for all my Deco units to calm down after each reboot. I also don't often see things improve very often by rebooting.

Who knows.

  @Aloha77

I've looked at the logs and what I see constantly is ip address conflicts.  I deleted all disconnected device and allow them to be rediscovered.  This worked for a while as devices reconnected everything looked good.  But then half my devices that were on were showing offline again.  I even had devices that was actively using the internet and had valid IP address showing as offline on the Deco app.

One of the bugs the firmware was to fix is an issue with the "client list".  It doesn't look like that was resolved; maybe made it worse.
