Smart Plug not connecting to WiFi

I try to connect a smart plug (a power outlet to control my mini solar system), but it is not connected to my WiFi.

I have an Archer VR600 router.

I have disabled smart connect and gave 2,4 and 5GHz different names.

When I try to connect the smart plug to the 2,4 network, I get the message connection not possible.

Could it be that the Archer VR600 is not at all able to connect Smart Plugs?

Or what else could I try?

Thanks in advance.

  @UK123

Most IoT devices connect to the 2.4. Try deleting/forget the network on the device if you can. On some of them you may need to reset the device to factory and set  it up again. Use different ssid for both and check the mode to ensure it is not set to AX only.

  @UK123

It is working now.

The IT department changed something after my complaint and then it was connected without any problems.

So it was not a router problem but a problem with the smart plug itself.
