I have a light that is controlled by 2 switches. I replaced only one of my regular switches with the Kasa HS210 3 way smart switch. The new Kasa switch works as intended, however, the normal switch only controls whether the Kasa switch works or not. (not sure if that makes sense). Would this be caused by an error in the wiring? I read that the order of the two traveler wires shouldn't matter.

 

Any thoughts/suggestions?

When you trigger the manual switch does the HS210 become unavailable in the Kasa app?  If so then what is going on is the HS210 was installed on the Load side not the Line side.  Each time the manual switch is triggered off it actually cuts the power to the HS210.  The only 2 options are to swap the location of the two switches so the HS210 is on the Line side or to not trigger the manual switch and leave it in the "On" position.  Doing this means that only the HS210 can be used to operate the lights.
