Tapo 4-Way + Dimmer Switches
Tapo 4-Way + Dimmer Switches
is there any update for a new product for at least a 4-way dimmer switch? The 3-way works great; however, I had to remove the 4-way switch from my setup and replace with a blank switch cover.

A soon-to-be-released switch (Tapo S515) will support 4-way setups, but at this time i do not know of any 4-way dimmers that will be launched in the near future. I will send up the desire for such a product to our dev team and see what we can do.

It looks like the Tapo S515 was released. That is a single switch non-dimmer.
So, back to the original question:

At this time there are no dimmers that support 4-way setups right now. I do not have any infromation on the relase of one either.

Inovelli seems to claim that they can do this? The wiring schematics are scary amateurish, but I'm tempted to give them a try- am I missing something? I'm definitely not loving the documentation either way tho...
'Smart Dimmer (formerly known as the 2-1 Switch)'
The forum won't let me post links, but their 'white' series is the Matter version, and if you find the product page there's a section titled 'PRODUCT DETAILS' which has a 'Documents' section with links to their schematics.
Looks like you can do it with 3 of the dimmers (expensive, don't know why you'd do it this way) or 1 dimmer and 2 'Aux' switches- more reasonable cost.
It also seems to imply that you can use a ordinary 4-way switch with a 3-way switch, replacing only one of the 3-way switches, but I'm not sure how that would work- maybe the switches just restore power to smart dimmer and it goes back to it's prior setting?
Thanks in advance for any thoughts :-)

I checked with our teams, and we currently do not have any 4-way dimmers. Nor can any of our 3-way dimmers work with a 4-way. The details why are a bit murky, but from what I understand, it has to do with how the signal is received and processed in the main unit. I'll be happy to dig a bit further, but right now, that is what we are being told.

I was just told by tapo tech support that I could use the S515 3 way switch with a 4 way circuit, but only by using a single smart switch with 2 mechanical switches.
I also don't see that the Satellite Switches are available separately. I'm tempted to get two of these:

And use the extra "master" as a standalone switch on a single-pole bedroom circuit, with only a single existing switch.
Can you confirm that I can use a single "master" + 2 "satellite" switches on a 4 way circuit?

@mshulman In the document
I see:
Q1: Can I connect two Tapo smart light switches to my 3-way or 4-way circuit?
A: Tapo smart light switch can only work with traditional 3-way or 4-way switches. Do Not use two Tapo smart switches together for 3-way or 4-way connection.
Is this still correct?

Hi All,
I believe the diagram is for a S515, not S515D that is the dimmer switch.

We don't have a 4-way dimmer switch so far.
Tapo S515D KIT is a 3-way dimmer switch.
The Tapo S515 is a single-pole smart switch that’s also compatible in 3-way or 4-way switch circuits. You can install it by replacing one of the traditional switches in the existing setup to make the whole circuit smart. How to install your Tapo Smart Wi-Fi Light Switch (Tapo S515)
