I currently have hard wired under cabinet lighting that is switched and I'm wondering if I can replace it with kasa light strips. Is there a way to wire them without connecting to an outlet?

  @thebridge12,

For the actual Kasa aspect of the light, meaning the controller, It has to be connected to an outlet; While the strips may be a more universal type, the controller for the strip contains the transformer for each light.

I’ve replaced hard-wired under cabinet lighting with Kasa light strips in my kitchen. I used a smart plug to avoid rewiring, and it worked perfectly. If you want to wire them directly without an outlet, I’d recommend consulting an electrician to integrate them into your existing switch, since the Kasa strips are designed to plug into an outlet
