After about a year of good operation my switch would not turn off by tapping it or Kasa control, although Kasa showed it going on and off. I tried killing the power with the breaker, resetting, factory default and re-install. It was not clicking so I assume the relay inside had failed. A new switch fixed the problem. It had 16 13W LED lights it was controlling so 208 W or 1.75 A. It is rated at 15 A General use or 800 W incandescent. 

I think the relay contacts welded shut. Maybe there is an inrush current from LCD circuits that caused this. No thunderstorms came through before the failure.

I would like to know if there is something I could do to prevent this from happening again.
