Use Case: As a user of the Tapo app that pays for Tapo Support Cloud Services I need any changes I make to the Home and Away modes to be saved in the cloud and remembered across all devides where I have Tapo app installed.

Problem: Any changes that a user makes to individual camera notification and detection settings in Home and Away modes are reset when switching modes. This requires the user to redo these changes every time they change modes creating a terribly inconvenient User Experience.

Solution: Any modifications a user with a paid subscriptions makes to the Home and Away mode shoudl be saved in the cloud and remembered so the user does not have to make the same changes every day.

More:  I purchased and installed 16 cameras inside and outside. I modified the Home mode settings so that my outdoor cameras in the front of the property detect people and vehicles and send a notification while also modifying the detections zones, and I also set the indoor cameras to detect motion but not send any notifications. I modified the Away mode settings so that all my outdoor cameras detect people and vehicles, while also modifying the detection zones and send a notification with no alarm, and I set all the indoor cameras to send a notification with no alarm. When I switch between Home and Away all these settings are reset to default. They have to be reset every day wasting about 20 minutes to redo this.

Steps:

1. Open Tapo App
2. App on Cameras at the bottom
3. Tap on the 3 dots next to Home Mode
4. Tap on any camera
5. Tap on Detection
6. Set Detection Type Motion Detection = On
7. Tap back
8. Tap on the image to set the detection zone
9. Set the zone and tap back
10. Tap back again
11. Tap Notifications
12. Set Activity Notification = On
13. Tap Back
14. Tap Back again to get to camera home
15. Tap Away Mode
16. Then Tap Home Mode
17. All the changes to Home Mode are reset

18. Settings should not be reset

Additional Concerns: 

There are many threads in the forum asking for this change dating back to 2021. This is a feature customers have been asking for and the responses by support are not useful and the request to make this change has been ignored.

This is a very poor user experience that, if it continues, will make me want to return these cameras and cancel my subscription and find a new camera solution.
