Hi all,

 

I have been using the Deco BE85 mesh system (3 pack) in my house since November 2024.  I have Verizon FIOS (internet only) and plug the main deco directly into the Verison ONT via ethernet.  This has been working flawlessly since November, not even any small connection issues, etc.  Yesterday afternoon, my internet randomly went down and i have yet to figure out the issue.  Here is what i have troubleshot so far:

 

  • Called Verizon, verified no issues on their side.  We reset the ONT multiple times to be sure.  They are not blocking anything and see full service going to my ONT box.
  • I plugged in a laptop direclty to the Verizon ONT via the same (only) ethernet that the Deco uses; the laptop has full internet speeds, tested for over an hour, no issues at all.
  • I luckily had my old Eero 6 system, which i plugged in and its now working flawelssly.  Currently using it as a backup, but obvisouly want to figure out what is wrong with the Decos and get them back up and running.  Eeros have been running since last night, zero problems.
  • Per all steps above, i know for certain its not a Verizon internet issue.

 

Specifically for the Decos, its very odd because when i reset the entire mesh system, the ineternet will come back on for 5-10 seconds, and then it cuts out. Here is what i have specifically tried with the Decos:

 

  • Reset the entire mesh network multiple times.
  • Unplugged/plugged back in all deco units
  • Tried a different ethernet cable to the ONT
  • Tried using different ethernet ports on the Main Deco
  • Switched one of the satellite Decos to be the Main Deco, same issue exists (internet works 5-10 seconds, cuts out)
  • Firmware says its up to date (1.1.1 Build 20241023 Rel. 34667)
  • iphone app is up to date

 

I am out of ideas to troubleshoot the system and am heavily leaning toward some sort of firmware issue in the Decos, although i dont understant how it would randomly just cut out.  If anyone has experienced the same thing or has suggestions, i would really appreciate it, thanks in advance!

I would try the Network Optimization tool in the Deco app maybe there is another Wi-Fi signal around you interfering with your network? From the Deco app click on More - Then Network Optimization - Scan 

 

If that doesn't help we can go from there

Just for testing purposes:

 

With the main/primary eero spare ethernet/LAN port plug in a DECO and see if you can set it up there (double NAT I know).

 

EDIT-  If it works try cloning the eero MAC.
