HS200 Smart-Switch Flickers/Restarts after Wiring

Hi folks,
I just installed a new HS200 in my switch box. As you can see in the picture, everything is connected properly (green/green, white/white, black/black, black/red).
When switching the power and the switch back on, the ceiling lights (Lumary iLintek 4” Retrofit Light with TP 24 Connector*1 | US-DL4A) start to flicker, and the HS200 seems to reset itself (switches back and forth to red continuously). See the video here.
Not sure what is wrong. When the HS200 is off, it connects to the Wifi and does the latest firmware update, letting me assume the wiring is correct, and maybe the lights don't work with the switch. The lights need a constant current.
However, what gives me pause is that when I opened the switch box, the red wire was connected to the white wire on the same terminal on the switch I removed (both were pig-tailed around the terminal). Weird. The black wire was definitely the hot wire (tested that). Any idea why that was done?

Consider whether it is a situation of overload. How many light bulbs are installed on the light fixture? Are they LED lights? What's the rated power?
Try to install the switch to another location, to control another light, test whether the same thing happens.

@Wayne-TP Hi Wayne, thank you for the feedback. That is exactly what I did, I installed the switch in my bathroom and had no issues (just three regular ceiling lights). I believe that there is an issue with combining the HS200 with the Lumary smart lights (780 Lumen LED smart lights, 9W, 110 volts, Amazon link: https://a.co/d/aAECKab). There are 5 lights installed on the ceiling at the moment. Do you think that's too much load to handle for the switch?
Could you recommend a different switch that could work with that setup (eventually there will be 10 of these lights on the ceiling)? My goal is that when entering the room, I can switch on the lights in a preset setting depending on the daytime and also use them with Alexa (which is independent of the switch).

The type and wattage of the bulbs are within the switch's supported range, so even with 10 installed simultaneously, it shouldn't be a problem. It may simply be a compatibility issue, you can try to install just one bulb, test what happens.
Given the vast number of fixtures available on the market, we can't verify the compatibility of the switch with each one. I suggest you buy the products and test them, keeping only those that work without any problems.
By the way, why are you trying to control the smart light bulbs with a smart switch? Typically, smart switches are intended for use with non-smart fixtures. When smart bulbs are controlled by a smart switch, bulb's smart ability will be disabled once the switch is turned off -- meaning cutting off light bulb's power supply.

Thank you for the reply.
WRT your switch question, maybe I'm thinking about this the wrong way, but here is the reasoning:
I mainly use Alexa to control my lights (wake-up command when I arrive, sleep command when I leave). There are instances when friends come over who don't know my commands or that I use Alexa at all. And they struggle to get the lights on, and when they leave, they switch them off, leaving me with the need to switch the switch on again before being able to use voice control.
I would like to use a smart switch that basically executes the simple task of "Alexa, lights on/off", so that I can always use voice and/or the switch. A simple Hue click button would probably be enough, but I wanted it to look neat.
Am I thinking about this the wrong way?

I believe a suitable solution is to replace all the visible switches with smart switches, while using regular bulbs. Your smart bulbs can then be installed in areas where the switches are less obvious or inaccessible to guests.

I installed a new switch KS225 but now have a different issue: https://community.tp-link.com/us/smart-home/forum/topic/840664?page=1
