I am new to the Tapo line of products and came from Wyze.
Curious about a doorbell feature.
When I am home, I would like to still get the doorbell to ring in the house, will this work even in privacy mode?
Is there a way to have pricacy mode turn off when someone hits the doorbell so I can have a short clip recorded of who came to my door?
As a battery-powered doorbell, it stays in sleep mode most of the time until it wakes up by the set events. So the privacy mode isn't very necessary for this type of devices.
If you have to use this feature, when the doorbell is in privacy mode, the doorbell itself and its paired chime will still ring when someone presses the doorbell, but there are no doorbell press notifications.
The doorbell features a wake-up mode called "Doorbell Pressed," which means it will only activate and start detecting and recording when the doorbell is pressed. In contrast, when in "Event Detected" mode, the doorbell will wake up whenever it detects movement in front of the camera.
