Firmware Version: 1.4.7

My live view times out after five minutes. My camera and phone are connected to the same Wi-Fi network, however, I have multiple TPLink Omada access points in my home and my phone probably connects to a different AP than the camera, depending on which room I'm in.

Is this normal behavior, and are there any plans to update to allow continuous view? If not, I will need to find another camera to use as a baby monitor.

Hi,
To effectively manage cloud service resources, ensure a stable monitoring experience, and prevent potential issues such as network data overages or battery drain on battery-powered cameras, there is a certain time limit for continuous live streaming when streaming the camera via our cloud server.

When you see the "Continue" prompt, try pinging the camera's IP address from your phone. If it fails, it might be that your router or access point is blocking the local connection, meaning your phone can only access the live feed through our cloud server, which causes the "Continue" message to appear.

If the ping is successful, try rebooting the camera and force-closing the Tapo app. Then reopen the app to see if you can stream the camera continuously via the local connection. Currently, there’s no option in the Tapo app to force the camera to stream via the local connection.

Best regards
