I'm trying to print through the Deco mesh system from my cell phone, but the printer isn't coming up on the phone app as being connected, and I can't find a way to manually add the printer as a new device.
Anyone got any suggestions as to how I can get the two to communicate?
Network printers are kinda notorious for this, but thankfully, there's usually a relatively simple workaround.
Is the printer already connected to the network? If not, you'll want to follow the network connection steps recommended by Brother.
If the printer is already on the new network but you can't send print jobs to it, this is most likely because the device requesting the print jobs (e.g., your phone) is still looking for the printer at its previous network address. You may need to update the printer's profile on your phone so it looks for the printer at its current network address.
Depending on your printer's make/model, the steps may vary slightly, but most modern printers make it rather easy to update their network presence/address using software tools. If need be, you can usually reach out to the printer manufacturer (Brother, in this case) for technical support as well.
