Alexa will not discover hs-1oo plug

Have followed all directions numerous times, using two different brand new HS-100 Smart Plugs. Every step works perfectly right up to the "Discover Devices" command in Alexa. And then it will not discover either device. Powered down. Reset. Went through it all again. And again. And again. Alexa never discovers the HS-100. WiFi is strong. Devices are all within ten feet of WiFi router. Any suggestions?
