On offline mode, can my mothers camera still record without a micro sd?
Can my mothers Kasa EC71 still record in offline mode? Without a Micro SD. My mothers internet is always on and I want to make sure if it goes offline I'll be able to remotely view a recording if anything were to happen. I know I cannot see live unless it's online or if I am on the local network, but I haven't tested this out yet. She is elderly and independent, this helps me reassure she is ok and keeps me sane. 😅😂 Any info?

No. If you are using cloud storage then a persistent link to the internet is required for recording. If the camera goes offline it will remain active but it will not record events as there is no internal storage. Both Micro SD and Cloud can be active on a camera at one time. But for cloud recording internet must remain active. For MicroSD the camera should still record events but you will not be able to access the camera remotely.

No, the Kasa EC71 cannot record in offline mode without a microSD card. It only stores footage locally on the card, so if the internet goes down, remote access to recordings won’t be possible unless there’s a microSD installed.

The Kasa EC71 camera requires an active internet connection to record to cloud storage. If the internet goes offline, the camera cannot record without a microSD card. To ensure continuous recording during internet outages, insert a microSD card into the camera. This setup allows the camera to store footage locally, providing access to recordings even when the internet is unavailable.
