  @Abdeali,

No, the devices are intended to be used with the frequencies and circuits in the US. You would need to wait until a device is released to your region to have a device with compatible specifications. The doorbells are quite loud, however you can use the automation features to make sure that you get notifications or have a voice assistant let you know that there is someone at your door when you are outside the audible range of the chime or hubs.

  @xtimex,

Sub-G Connectivity is a type of wireless communication that uses a much lower frequency than Wi-Fi. Sub-G devices will communicate with a Tapo hub on your network for events, and compatible cameras will also record their footage to the hub, rather than an onboard SD card. This will improve the reliability of the device, and allow many of your automations to continue, even when you lose an internet connection. These hubs also allow you to connect Sub-G sensors, such as Door, Waterleak, or Motion Sensors.

  @Riley_S

Q1: I see there is a D235 model. The specs look the same as the TD25. Are they the same and when will we see the D235 in the US?

Q2: I currently have the D130 and the camera resolution and FOV specs are similar to the TD25/D235. Do you know if they use the same camera unit?

Hi  @Riley_S

Few questions that need some clarity.

1)  Whether D225/ TD25 are supported technically and in terms of post sales/warranty in Singapore. I could only find D225 in Amazon SG, even enterprise retailer don't have them. My corridor is pretty busy, hence considering a wired doorbell.

2) Will D225/ TD25 be supported to store footage on H200? Or NAS?

3) Is there a loitering notification? Not to notify when a human or unknown face is captured, only when they loiter. (As my corridor is pretty busy).

I am hoping face recognition comes onboard and also all devices can work on a separate network to the hub besides home WIFI.

Hallo allemaal. Bedankt

Hello everyone. I'm new here and I already have a few Tapo devices. Is it possible to connect the Tapo doorbell chime from the D235 to the Hub H100? I would like to install the chime on the upper floor while the hub is hanging on the ground floor. Thank you

  @Eduardo75,

This shouldnt be a problem, the H100 should be one of the intended chime options in the app. Otherwise, there is always the smart action for the H100 that will allow you to ring the hub for other events,.

  @Jake991,

1 - Not sure, you would need to check with your region. For US products, they are only supported if they are purchased and used from within the United States. Different regions have different laws and requirements, from both a support/warranty and a technological perspective.

2 - I believe the plan is for the Dual-Powered Doorbells to offer the feature while they are using a consistent power source, but not while using battery power. More information should be available soon, with one user on reddit even reporting the feature's presence being added last week.

3 - No, but I will see If I can forward a request to consider such as a "Person Detected for X Minutes" Automation or Detection.

4 - I am not sure if there are any true facial recognition features in the works, however you will need to keep an eye out as we are likely going to see a variety of security systems in the near future. The launch of our Business-Level VIGI brand, also means that consumer brands will begin to have access to these more enterprise-level detections.

  @Riley_S I just bought the D225 from the us and want to install it in my home in Egypt. Is it possible to connect the doorbell directly to 240 volts 50 Hz? If not, what are the other options beside running it in battery mode?

I wonder if connecting it to USB c would keep it charged?

Thanks in advance 🙏

  @techieperson-eg,

The devices sold here are specifically meant for our power supplies, you should really see if there is a compatible doorbell from another region for you to install if you can.

For the power, I am honestly not sure. I would feel that this use would be closes to using a solar panel with with the doorbell, which is not something that is supported by the D235 and D225. Either way, this would still likely force the Battery Mode and be seen as just a charging source if it were possible.
