C520WS Cameras losing their quality
This has happened since I switched to Tapo from Wyze. Backstory: Wyze was an inconsistent, constant world of stress and incompetence that never worked. So I piad to completely leave their ecosystem and come to Tapo - and it's been so amazing. Everything, in every way, is better. Including price. It's been about 2 months and so far this has been the only problem:
With specifically the two C520ws cameras, after a little while their resolution drops to the point it looks like a webcam from 2002. It doesn't matter what the settings are in the camera (2k and 25fps), it will look like trash until I reboot. Sometimes, it only looks that bad on my phone (Galaxy S24 Ultra) and will look fine on the tablet I use for monitoring on my desk (Galaxy Tab A7) so I thought it was only a software issue on my phone, but then why would rebooting the camera but not the phone fix it?
When it does this, I have checked network connection and it's always full bars. I even just replaced my Asus GT6 router a few days ago with a TP-Link Archer BE550 Wifi-7 tri-band router and the problem persists. I've tried changing hardware acceleration on my phone app, tried changing the resolution and fps to jog it into place. Nothing works except for rebooting (despite the cameras being set to auto-reboot once a day). Issue is not present on C110 or C210 cameras.
I'd love to know if others notice this happening, or if Tapo is going to fix it. I've waited patiently for 2 months - was really hoping to avoid having to come on and do this. Samsung is by far the most popular Android device so I'd assume it would be used in QA.
