An alert whenn my camera hears a smoke alarm would be beneficial. Another popular brand other popular brand of cameras does this. Since the camera can alert when it detects a baby crying it seems like this is only a software upgrade. 
 

I am considering returning my camera when I found a common camera had this feature. This would satisfy some request I saw for a smoke detector.
