Detection Issues
I’ve been using the Tapo C425 outdoor camera for a while now, and no matter what I do, the motion detection just doesn’t work as expected. I’ve gone through all the recommended steps:
Camera placement is correct (good angle, no obstructions).
Detection zone is set properly.
Sensitivity is cranked up to the maximum level (10/10).
Notifications and event recording are enabled.
Despite all this, the camera consistently fails to detect motion when it should. People, vehicles, even larger movements often go completely unnoticed unless they’re very close or directly in front of the camera.
For an “outdoor” camera marketed with advanced detection features, this is really disappointing. A security camera is only as good as its ability to actually capture motion events, and right now, the C425 feels unreliable at best.
Not just that but the audio is distorted and muffeled.
Has anyone else run into the same issue? Did you manage to find a real fix, or is this just a limitation of the camera itself?
