Support ONVIF and/or RTSP protocols on C420 S or via the Hub 200
Support ONVIF and/or RTSP protocols on C420 S, so other apps can work with the C420. (Or, via the Hub 200.) The Tapo iOS iPhone app needs work. Cameras are nice.

Hi All,
We regret to inform you that Tapo battery-powered cameras do not currently support the RTSP and ONVIF protocols.
To maximize battery runtime, the battery-powered cameras remain in a low-power (sleep) state most of the time. The camera wakes only when motion is detected or when a user views live feed in the Tapo app. Continuous streaming over RTSP or ONVIF would require the camera to stay awake at all times, which would consume substantial power and significantly reduce battery runtime. Even with a solar panel connected, the camera may be insufficient to sustain RTSP/ONVIF streaming. Considering factors such as the battery runtime and lifespan, RTSP and ONVIF are not supported on our battery-powered camera models.
If you need a camera that supports RTSP or ONVIF, we recommend choosing a non-battery-powered model. You can go to this page to filter and find a camera model that interests you. On the Specifications or Datasheet page for a specific camera on our official website, you can also confirm whether the RTSP/ONVIF protocols are supported.
We valued your feedback. Although battery-powered cameras do not support RTSP/ONVIF at this time, we will continue to record and forward the feature requests to the relevant team for evaluation as we work to improve our products and services.
Best Regards

Also required feature for C425 and other battery enabled cameras.
If 24/7 capture recording is available on the C460 it should be the same for the C425 and I'd assume would have the same hardware for capabilities.

apparently not. I have the required Reolink portfolio in my wishlist to replace all my Tapo devices --> cloudfree and Onvif also for battery cameras. Plus Home Assistant certification. It's a shame, I am satisfied with the build quality, but the need for cloud and the lack of 3rd party interoperability spoils the deal with Tapo :-(
