@blpol Nope. We haven't been provided with public beta firmware for Archer AX73 V2 yet, but please don't worry, we will update the thread once there is new firmware available for public testing.

@yonasz

Thanks for asking.

I will try to see if I can find any updates on the topic, but I would not be too hopeful for a status update as we aren't made aware of any new public beta firmware for other models like this. Either way, I will forward the request again, and update the status once there is any.

Hi,

I have ve installed the provided beta release Archer AX73(EU)_V1_1.2.6 Build 20230621 recently. The installation was normal, but the restart after it was about 5 anxious minutes. I didn't observe any other functional problems. I've checked the OpenVPN performance of this beta by a series of 25 tests by Ookia speed test connected to Proton VPN, with the same server/provider and target server. The average results are as follows: Download: 51 Mbps; Upload: 35 Mbps; Ping: Idle latency: 36 ms, Download latency:103 ms, Upload latency: 38 ms. The download before the update with firmware version 1.2.6 Build 20230526 was 36 Mbps, so increase with this beta is about 42%. Unfortunately Proton VPN application for Windows 10 64 bit still performs better under the same conditions: Download: 122 Mbps; Upload: 88 Mbps; Ping: Idle latency: 45 ms, Download latency:111 ms, Upload latency: 41 ms.

@IKr

Thank you so much for sharing the testing results and VPN performance with the provided beta firmware on AX73, and I'm happy to see the speed does improve compared with the previous versions.

Can you please explain what you mean by this? Does the AX73 restart on its own after installing the beta firmware?

  @Kevin_Z

Hello! Sorry for the delay.
I was not precise, the problem was not the restart itself, it was the system startup. AX73 restarted after installation of the firmware as usual, the system startup after it was abnormally long. It took not exactly 5 minutes, but at least two times longer than usual, which is 2 min 40 sec according to my test. Usually during system startup power LED is flashing, after some time 2,4 and 5 GHz wireless go on, after some more time Ethernet and USB LEDs go on, if present, the last one is Internet LED, which goes orange, and if the internet service is OK it turns green. In the described case power LED was flashing normally, but at least twice longer than usual. After that 2,4 and 5 GHz wireless, Ethernet and USB LEDs switched on almost simultaneously, Internet LED blinked orange once or twice and disappeared for about 15-20 secs, after that it appeared again in orange and changed to green shortly after.
