Solution Tapo Doorbell D235/D225/TD25's Spotlight Doesn't Turn Off Automatically in Doorbell Mode

- Model: Tapo D235/Tapo D225/TD25 V1.0
- Firmware version: 1.1.13 and 1.1.14
- The doorbell is hardwired-powered and set to Always On mode
Description
When Tapo doorbell is set to Doorbell Mode in Night Mode Settings (doorbell Device Settings page > Video & Display > Night Mode Settings), the spotlight will turn on automatically when someone rings the doorbell and turn off automatically when no movement is detected (enter infrared mode).
However, if your doorbell is one of the model mentioned above and meets the specified conditions, you might encounter an issue where the spotlight fails to turn off automatically and stays on continuously.
Workaround
Fixed in firmware 1.1.15 and 1.1.16 versions.
The issue has been identified and will be addressed in upcoming firmware updates.
In the meantime, a beta firmware with the necessary fixes is available for community users to test. If you would like to apply the beta firmware, send a

(2) How to update the firmware of the Tapo devices on the Tapo App
(3) Firmware downgrade is not supported. When a new official version is released, updating it will overwrite the beta version.

Hi, I've just installed a TAPO D235 and I have the same problem : The Led is always On.
My settings :
- Alway On Mode (Wired power)
- LED : Auto
- Night mode setting = Doorbell mode
Firmware : 1.1.19
Streaming to Synology NAS configured.
I have tried tu reboot the D236, tried to disable the NAS connection but the LED still remains On.
I have check the notifications to ensure that no events are detected.

Hi, I have the exact same issue.
My D235 is hardwired and is set to Always-On mode.
Nighttime mode is set to Doorbell.
When the LED is set to Auto On, it never turns off. It will stay illuminated all day & all night without being triggered or watching it live.
I'm running the latest firmware available to me which is 1.1.19 Build 250320

I can confirm I have the same issue. I have Led on Auto. Firmware 1.1.19. Doorbell is hardwired. Hoping there is a fix for this.

Hi, I would suggest messaging Wayne with your Mac Address for the doorbell so he can send you the beta to your device, having the beta firmware installed fixed the issue for us.
