Model: Tapo C720
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.2.3

The performance of the sensor is not satisfactory; on 9, it doesn't come on soon enough and on 10, it comes on way too often.

I therefore thought I'd put the floodlight in Camera mode, but that mode doesn't "stick". When I go back to the "Auto On" settings page, the setting has jumped back to "sensor". I believe the floodlight is indeed stuck in Sensor because it is coming quite often on when no camera detection has been made.

Are there any fixes for this (I will try a smart action but that workaround is nt really satisfactory).

Thanks!

  @Toomanyrooms

Hi,
When you enter the Auto-On Settings page, you see the Sensor section first, which may be because the camera is designed to be displayed this way. Just make sure that the detection areas are not selected on the Sensor section, then only the settings in the Camera section take effect.

If you see the camera does not detect an event but the floodlight turns on, please send the detection settings configured on the Camera section and the corresponding video recordings to us for analysis.
You can upload the video to your cloud server(such as Google Drive), generate a link to download it, and send me(@Solla-topee) the link via a private message.

Best Regards

Hi,
On the camera's Device Settings > Floodlight Settings > Auto On settings > Sensors page, have you unchecked Left, Middle, and Right detection Area? If not, the sensor detection feature will work.
Best Regards

Arrh, no so. Even if I deselect Left Middle and Right, select "Camera" then leave that screen, when I go back to it, it has swapped back to Sensor (which now has no zones selected).

PS: There is no "sensors" page for the 720; the only page applicable IS the "Auto-on Settings" page

Cheers, Al

Yes, that appears to be the case, but it is not logical. If I select "Camera", it should stay selected. I should simply have to tap "camera" and the sensor detection is turned off. In fact, if we have deselected the three sensor areas, you shouldn't be able to select "Sensor".

I've sent you a PM with a GD link.

Cheers, TMR
