[TKID250543774] Connectivity Issue with Tapo C230 Camera on Deco M4R Mesh Network,Ethernet Backhaul
Hello,
I am writing to report an issue with my Tapo C230 5K resolution camera, which is part of my home network built entirely using TP-Link Deco M4 (model M4R) mesh nodes.
Network Setup:
-
All three Deco M4 nodes are connected via CAT 7 Ethernet cables for a wired backhaul setup.
-
The main Deco (Manzil) is connected to the router.
-
A second Deco node (Burj) is connected to Manzil via LAN.
-
A third Deco node (Bab), which is physically closest to the Tapo C230 camera, is also connected via LAN.
Issue:
Despite the ideal placement, the Tapo C230 camera does not connect to the nearest mesh node (Bab). Instead, it connects to either the Burj or Manzil nodes, which are farther away. This causes noticeable performance and stability issues.
Troubleshooting Steps Taken:
-
Ensured camera is connected on the 2.4 GHz band.
-
Disabled and re-enabled the nearby node (Bab) to encourage the camera to switch.
-
Checked Deco app to confirm the actual connected node.
-
Verified all mesh nodes are functioning and properly cabled.
Despite these efforts, the camera still does not connect to the closest node.
Since both the camera and mesh network are TP-Link products, I would appreciate your guidance or any firmware updates, settings, or configuration tips that could resolve this issue and ensure the Tapo C230 uses the nearest Deco nodefor optimal performance.
Please let me know if you need any diagnostic reports, logs, or screenshots.
Thank you for your support.
Warm regards,
V. Rahamathullah
