Ethernet Backhaul not reconnecting after Internet Outage
I've all but given up with Deco due to the quantity of built-in bugs and lack of after sales care and firmware updates, but as I am looking ot donate the products I have to a friend, I wanted to track down some of the issues that has made me give up, just for curiosity's sake.
The biggest issue is the Backhaul and its instability.
Of course wiring Backhaul should provide more stability, but in my case, its causing problems.
I have the following:
3 x X55
2 x X60
1 x X50-Outdoor
I connect the X50-Outdoor to one of the three X55 via a TL-PA7017P powerline kit on the recommendation of TP-Link. The connection is stable and well within the specifications of cable length etc. (I know this as I built the house and first-fixed the cabling.) In general, the connection itself appears stable, but from time to time the X50-Outdoor and the X55 on the other end goes offline with a flashing red LED.
I have finally narrowed this down to the internet going offline. I have a Huawei 4G router in modem mode only connected to an X60. When the internet goes offline, so do the two Decos I have this problem with. The only way to reconnect (once the internet is back up) is to unplug the Ethernet cable from one of the two affected nodes and allow them to connect via wifi.
Without going into the why's and wherefore's, why is it these two Decos won't reconnect (once the internet is back up) via Ethernet Backhaul when the internet goes down, or, why do they not fallback to wifi without intervention?
This is just one of a number of reasons why I have dropped Deco and really am considering ditching Deco to WEEE recycling rather than give them away to someone who will simply be in a world of problems that I am experiencing, not something a friend should do really.
But in the hope I am doing something stupid, which I am happy to admit to, what is it I'm doing wrong?
