With all due respect, even if manually changing the BE230's network setting to "Static IP" could stop the log spam, this is merely a workaround, isn't it?

In my honest opinion, the BE230's DHCP client behavior is not normal as it does not respect server-provided lease times.

Years ago a user apparently went to great lengths to get an explanation from TP-Link about this behavior. He posted the answer in this thread https://community.tp-link.com/en/home/forum/topic/189956?replyId=462832 (post #8, Paul_S).

Basically, TP-Link implemented a mechanism that (with the default settings "Dynamic IP" and "DHCP Server -> Auto") ensures there is always an active DHCP server available within the local network. If an external DHCP server is detected, then the TP-Link AP turns its own internal DHCP server OFF and if no external DHCP server is detected, then the TP-Link AP turns its own DHCP server ON.

As per Saxton's findings above it is now necessary to do two things to disable this "feature". Change the AP from "Dynamic IP" to "Static IP" and switch the AP's "DHCP Server" from "Auto" to "Off".
