Deco BE65 - SKY frustration
Hi all, Please help
just bought a new TP Link Deco Be65 (triple pack)
everything seems to be working well except my sky q and sky mini box. I read TP link advise to hard wire these but these were working fine with my old ISP mesh (EE/BT whole home) is there anyway I can this working over Wi-Fi, I have tried a number of things
turned off fast roaming in app
turned off beamforming in app
given devices static IP's
tried forcing it to closest node which is main node
tried forcing it to 2.4ghz in app
uldated tp link firmware
whatever I try the sky boxes go offline all the time, they do seem to reconnect themselves afterwards
so frustrating as this kit is not cheap and I really like it but if I cannot get it to work with sky i will be forced to send it back to shop:

Hi,
You can enable a 2.4 GHz IoT network on the Deco BE65, set the wireless security type to WPA2-PSK, turn off the Sky Mini box, move the Sky Q next to the main Deco, and then check whether the Sky Q box connects to the IoT network successfully, and whether the Sky Q box is working.
If the same phenomenon persists, please confirm whether the problem is that the Sky Q box is connected to the Deco's Wi-Fi but has no IP address or internet connection, or whether it fails to connect to the Deco's Wi-Fi.
Best Regards

Hi, thanks for your response. I don’t have any issues adding it to the network — the problem is that the connection keeps dropping shortly after it’s added. I’ve just tried enabling the IoT network on the Deco and connected it through that instead, so I’ll see how that goes.
It seems like quite a few other people are having similar issues getting their Sky boxes to work properly with Deco systems. I think it might be related to the Sky boxes creating their own mini mesh network. The strange thing is I’ve never had this issue with my Sky boxes on other mesh systems.

Hi,
The following is an article about the Sky Q box and Deco. In your situation, you can also try disabling the 5 GHz band on your Sky Q and Sky Q Mini boxes to see if this helps.
Can Sky Q work with Deco?

I have tried every setting to try and get this working over Wi-Fi and nothing works they still randomly disconnect. As article says connecting via Ethernet seems the only option.
deco app settings that I have tried
Enabled iot and added sky boxes to network
Beamforming off
fast roaming off
Mesh disabled
2.4 GHz only
use specific node only
reserved ip address's

Hi,
When your Sky Q and Sky Mini boxes disconnect from Deco, do they lose their Wi-Fi connection, or remain connected but have no internet connection? Can you send us the pictures of the network/internet status pages on your Sky Q and Sky Mini box? If they still have IP addresses, can you successfully ping them from your laptop on the same network?
Best regards

hi yes, both devices show offline in deco app and have no connection. They connect at first then eventually drop
going to try the advice from this link Can Sky Q work with Deco? - Home Network Community and connect my two sky boxes to deco nodes via ethernet, does one have to be connected to main node or can they be connected by ethernet to any node?

Hi,
The Sky Q and mini boxes can connect to any Deco node by Ethernet.
