Model: Deco BE85   Deco BE65
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: 1.2.1

Having run Deco M5, M9, X60 and now migrated to BE85+BE65 I'm very, very disappointed. WAN is fiber and Starlink connected via a dual-WAN Omada switch.

The main Deco BE85 (first floor) is wired directly to the BE65 in the basement (concrete floor and walls). Another BE65 on the top floor connected wirelessly shows a strong connection but still drops IoT devices and laptops. My wife's work Windows laptop loses connection intermittently, making it a pain to connect to meetings.

i bought the "flagship" BE85 to boost connectivity in my new larger house, and instead I get the opposite.

- IoT devices: a complete pain to set up. I previously used a Guest network locked to 2.4 GHz and have now moved or tried to move 15+ IoT devices to an IoT network. Disabled MLO, Fast Roaming and Beanforming.
Devices lose connection intermittently. Devices controlling HVAC drop out causing heaters/cooling to run too long or don't start when needed.

Some devices are IMPOSSIBLE to get to connect to the IoT network.

Other devices: intermittently dropping connection, or losing Internet connection. Teams calls are unreliable as my Mac sometimes drops connection or drops speed in the basement.

When installing BE85, I set up a new SSID and connected ALL clients (except the ones that simply will not connect. I no longer have the X60 units.

I'm close to getting rid of the BE devices and going to another manufacturer.

What can I do to fix these issues?

What firmware are your BE65 units on? 1.3.2 is the latest. I have a BE85 V2 main and 3 BE65 V2 as satellites... it works quite well with many devices connected. Let tech support work through some ideas with you before you get rid of them. Good luck!

  @BPCS

Glad to hear they work well for you!

The BE65s are on 1.3.2 Build 26040912.

I also have one M9 for a device that needs to be wired, on 1.9.1.

Start troubleshooting by the basics like using Deco Lab to do a Network Optimisation. I hope support chips in here and helps you. Good luck.

Hi,
You can refer to the instructions below to troubleshoot and check if it helps.
Fix unstable connection when connected to the Deco network

Please provide the following information for further analysis if the same phenomenon persists.
  1. On the Deco app > Network tab, please tap a Deco and send us the screenshots of the Show Map and Show List pages.
  2. What's the LED status on the main Deco and the satellite Deco when the issue occurs?
  3. Do all the wireless client devices have an unstable connection with Deco? For example, is the client device sometimes disconnected from Wi-Fi, and sometimes connected to Wi-Fi but with no internet access? And are there specific devices that can't connect to the Deco's Wi-Fi?
  4. How often does the reported phenomenon occur?

Best Regards
