Model: Deco BE65
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: V1.3

Hi,

Just a heads up, I upgraded firmware to V1.3 this morning and internet connection went down. Tried all other WAN / VLAN connection settings, reset device many, many, many  times to no avail. Only hard reset and downgrading to v1.2 via web portal restored connection.

Would be interested if anyone else has found way to make V1.3 work?

@WelshJedi I am on TPG in AU, I upgraded to the beta of 1.3.0 on the BE65 just before 1.3.2 final was released and had exactly the same result as yourself. It was very surprising, normally the firmwares are stable.  I also went back to the 1.2 firmware almost straight away on the 3 nodes. I eventually downloaded 1.2.10 from the USA site which supports Australia it seems, have upgraded to that and turned off auto updates. It offers me 1.3.2 all the time, I'm not taking it.

Hi,
We have other users report that after updating the Deco BE65 V2's firmware to the official one (V1.3.2), the Deco is still working fine.
You can refer to the instructions below to troubleshoot if you fail to set up the main Deco after performing a factory reset.
Main Deco Failed to Complete Setup

If the same phenomenon persists, it's recommended to contact our technical support team for assistance.

Best Regards

@Solla-topee The failure in this situation is complete. There is only very briefly internet access then they go red.  The reason that I didn't contact support is well articulated on the page you link - "We recognise the value of your time and acknowledge that waiting for an agent to address your concerns can be frustrating." It isn't feasble to wait more than an hour or two to get any issue resolved. The units must just work. I don't think my time is valued in this situation at all, they are just words on a page.

Getting the units back into a serviceable position, i.e. having internet access is the number 1 result for me. I have my own customers to service. I rolled back to 1.2.0 firmware and it fixed the issue. I later went to 1.2.10 successfully. That is as far as I will go.

I think TP-Link products are great but I am not a beta tester for them.

Hi, Thx for note, Do you know if those other users are using TPG WAN profile with specific VLAN settings. As a test I upgraded to 1.3 again and got the same issues. V1.2 is the latest version that works with TPG, and they haven't changed anything on their end. Given you have specific TPG profile, have your senior techs contacted them to assess or test. Cheers Mike

Hi,
Usually, updating Deco's firmware won't change its internet configuration details. Before the firmware upgrade, you can go to the Deco app > More > Internet Connection > IPv4 page to view your internet connection type, and go to Advanced > IPTV/VLAN page to see your VLAN settings.
After firmware updating, you can check if the configurations are correct. You can also try a factory reset on the Deco and reconfigure it with the same WAN & VLAN settings after the firmware update to see if this helps.
Best Regards
