Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: Archer C5400X(EU)_V1_180904

Good day!
Suggestion, add DNS Over TLS & Over HTTPS support to the firmware.

Hello @SargesX and anyone else who is requesting DoH and DoT support for the TP-Link device, please check the below threads.

Currently, we have already supported DoH on some of the Wi-Fi routers as stated below:

Official Firmware Supports DoH and IoT Network for Archer C6 V4 Is Publicly Available Now!

Pre-Released Firmware Supports DoH and IoT Network for Archer C80 is Ready for Trial

For other models, I believe they will also get the DoH support and other features soon via firmware or hardware upgrade. It's suggested to keep an eye on the device App for any firmware upgrade.

It's also suggested to pay attention to any New Firmware or Beta Program or Early Access threads that are published here in the community, which will show you some newly implemented features that are supported by new firmware updates.

The Archer AX6000 does not support DNS over TLS or DNS over HTTPS.

While we have noted that and will keep an eye on this request.

And we will remind our R&D team to evaluate the feasibility.

Best regards.

Is it possible to add functionality in the long term?

@SargesX

Hello, actually it is hard to guarantee that whether it will be added in the future.

What we can do now is to pass this request to our R&D colleagues and they can work on it and evaluate the feasibility.

And you can keep an eye on our official website.

Best regards.

I would also love to see this implemented for the Deco products. Even the ability to force DNS for ipv4 to use the ipv6 addresses would be welcome.

It's 2021 and DNS services have evolved. For me NextDNS via https/tls is a must, but unfortunately still not supported on TP-link routers.

I'm currently on my new AX50 and wonder if there are still no plans for DNS over tls/https? Any news since this thread is from 2 years ago?

I have Archer ax73 and I also need DoH and DoT. Will this be added to the firmware? And when, if there is such information?

I see that this topic is tagged with "Future Consideration".

I'd add TP-Link Wireless Router Archer AX50 to the list.

Clearly, supporting DNS over TLS in compliance with RFC7858 became an industry standard in the meantime and is a must in terms of privacy.

I urge TP-Link to consider their implementation timelines.

Thanks.

Device information:

Hardware version: Archer AX50 v1.0
