RE305 not connecting to 5GHz network
Hello all,
I've bought extender RE305 from TP-Link. I am trying to set up the repeater correctly, but for some reason it does not want to connect to 5 GHz network of my main router. It connects to 2,4 GHz without problems. This seems to be same problem as here: https://community.tp-link.com/en/home/forum/topic/166856 (as Ziggo is another name of UnityMedia).
Yesterday, I've noticed that for a few minutes, the LED for 5 GHz was on and that repeater managed to connect for a short amount of time, but then once again it disconnected and now 5GHz connection is once again marked as "out of signal".
My laptop, with Intel WiFi, is connecting normally to that network and connection is working and stable.
My main router is from UPC (UnityMedia), its a ConnectBox standard router.
Some info regarding its firmware:
Standard specification compliant : DOCSIS 3.0
Hardware version : 5.01
Software version : CH7465LG-NCIP-6.12.18.25-2p6-NOSH
Currently, 5GHz Wi-Fi is configured like that:
I tried to change channels, even set them to Automatic or even disable 2,4 GHz at all, but nothing helps.
What is seen by TP-Link:
What can I do to fix that issue?

suffering with the same problem but its RE305 V1....so is there any beta firmware for V1 RE305 extender? very disapointed with the purchase.. no wonder it was cheap.. just cant handle a strong 5ghz wifi. and 2.4ghz speed is too damn low. iam having 200mbps internet and has to use this extender at 12mbps. the speed with 5ghz is good but connection drops a 1000 times a day... and shows no signal when the extender is just around 5 or 6 metres away from the router. it reconnects when rebooted and then within next 10min it drops again and now forced to use 2.4ghz with 12mbps speed. such a waste purchase.
router is a huawei fibre device.
anyway let me know if the same beta firmware works in this older RE305 V1.

Could someone help me as well I have the same problem, it seems that the TP device is not able to connect to a channel upper a certain value, I have read that some people has ask their providers to take the channel to like 40 or 36 (on the routers/modems that we are not able to do it).
Can you help me I have seen there is a BETA test that has been shared, could you share that with me?
Please let me know if not I'll try to call my provider as well.
Regards

@ScorpioMx ya I hav been experimenting with 5ghz channels... It works sometimes but since the router here is managed by landlord I can't do more experiments to get perfect channel that works..
But for your case I believe u hav to login to your router WiFi setting and try assigning particular channel instead of setting auto. . And test which one stays stable with tp link..
