I cannot send a video by chromecast to my NVDIA Shield and my second smart TV, when my deco are in router mode. But it works when I'm in access point.
I have a better internet speed in router mode.
So how to make chromecast work in router mode please ? 
What is the current network diagram? How do you connect these devices together?
Please check the IP address and gateway of the chromecast, NVDIA Shield and your smart TV, please ensure that they are in the same subnet.
You can try to connect all of them to the Deco and test whether it works.

I have the same issue and my nividia lost connect all the time when connected to deco m5 (mode router).. all devices are connected are the same subnet.
