connects through the powerline, i.e. does not require the central WiFi modem to be ON
can be turned off when I only want to connect through its Ethernet ports (I want to use this in the bedroom and don't want to unplug it every time I do not need the WiFi)

Maybe AV600 and PA4010 KIT fit the bill? Please help.

Thank you very much for your time and patience.

For the TL-PA4010kit, the adapter and extender communicate via power line; but it still needs internet modem to connect to the adapter via cable to get internet service first;

And TL-PA4010kiit is wired power line unit only, does not support Wi-Fi;
