Model: AC500
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 0.2.0 0.9.1 v0074.0 Build 170504 Rel.68210n

Hi,

my new router closes the Wifi connections after a few minutes (I tried a continous ping the router did not help). I need to reconnect then the connection is fine for a few minutes. 3 ethernet ports are used, none of the wired devices experiencing the same issue. All wifi devices (we have 4) experience the issue but not in the same time when the connection is broken for a PC the connection doesn't broken for the laptop. All of these devices worked fine with the previous Wifi router. DSL is the internet acces type.

What's the solution?

The device:

TP-Link AC1600 Dual-Band Wi-Fi VDSL/ADSL Modem Router

Firmware Version:0.2.0 0.9.1 v0074.0 Build 170504 Rel.68210n Hardware Version:Archer VR600 v2

Many thanks.

Peter

@lpeter

Hello, sorry to hear that this modem router gives you troubles. Please help us get the following information for further assistance:
1. When the internet dropped on the VR600, are the internet and DSL lights solid on, wired devices still access the internet fine?
2. If it is only the wireless disconnects, you may try to adjust the wireless settings on the modem, such as wireless channel, channel width and security settings, then monitor again. You can also refer to Case One to do more troubleshooting: https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/2238/, then tell me what are the changes you did.
