Issue Description/Phenomenon:

Some customers may report that they can see the received SMS message numbers on the LTE router web interface Basic > Network Map page as well as on the Advanced > SMS > Inbox page, however, they cannot read them. See the screenshot attached below.

Note: Sending SMS messages from the router web page does work properly.

Available Solution:

If this is what you are experiencing on the 4G LTE router, please install the following beta firmware, then monitor if the issue is gone:

Archer MR600_V1 20201204

TL- MR100_V1 20210104 

Archer MR400 V4 20210622
M7000 V1 20210327

Archer MR200_V4_20210201(official firmware)
TL-MR6400_V5_201207(official firmware)

 

Guidance to install this firmware manually:

If the issue still exists after installing the above beta firmware, please contact the tech support engineers via email (support.forum@tp-link.com), or leave a comment on the topic with the following information:

1. Who is the SIM card carrier?

2. Does the SMS work fine if you insert the SIM card into a phone?

3. Test with another SIM card from another carrier if that is possible to confirm if the issue persists.

4. Attach the router log when emailing the TP-Link support (find and save the log file in Advanced > System Tool > System Log).

Why so many beta versions. What if i want band selection, hide mesh and have the SMS fix at the same time?

If you are already on the latest beta firmware which allows you to disable Onemesh feature, you may check if you still encounter an issue with the band selection or SMS, both should be also fixed on the latest beta firmware.

 

BTW, there will be a new official version to include all the fixes in the future.

then to solve the problem of messages that you do not read I solved with the beta 1.1.0 0.9.1 v0001.0 Build 201204 Rel.66940n , this beta was the recommended one , with this beta version I read the messages , then I noticed that with this beta there is the possibility to set the band , but there is a problem on the setting of the band mi from band 1,3,7,20 the trewind uses these bands the 1,3,7,20 but the problem is that it is not band 7 but it is 7.2 mi gives on advanced when I set the band 7

More than 1 year without solving the problem in the updates. We are sold for bug and vulnerabilities with a "confidential, test only" version.

With the firmware Archer MR600_V1 20201204 I can now read the SMS. Carrier at France used with this issue: Orange, Free, Bouygue Please, implement the fix of this firmware in the regular updates. It's very painful to upgrade the firmware 20201204, read the SMS and re-upgrade to the latest offcial firmware (for security purpose)
