@smiley2025  this is strange. I did a firmware upgrade this morning via tether and it said it was successful.

I've checked again now and it is has not updated and asks me to update.

So I repeated the process and again it states the update is successful.

Logging back into tether and the tplinkwifi website it doesn't recognise any changes and shows update available again

Did another reboot and no update recognised.

What's going on please?

@smiley2025 ok found a solution in one of the posts.

It first needed a manual update from 1.1.2 to 1.1.4 from the tplinkwifi website and then 1.4. which can be from the tether app or website manually

That is a good feature, thank you.

This is kind of dumb. Having to set up Router Mode with DHCP disabled and sacrificing the WAN port just for having Acces control whitelisting and Easymesh doesn't make sense at all, when such features could perfectly work in AP mode.

Hello @zuozi and everyone who is looking for Onemesh between two routers,

I'm updating here to let you know that there will be a new feature called EasyMesh added to the TP-Link routers and range extenders, which will allow you to build a mesh network between two routers wirelessly.

Please visit the following thread to know more about how EasyMesh will work, leave your comments there if you have further inquiries:

EasyMesh Networking: Build Wireless Backhaul between Routers and Range Extenders
