Thanks for the quick response.

Yes, if i connect to a computer it automatically negotiates as 1000mbps. My ISP( Meo Portugal) modem is a FiberGateway GR141DG.

Thanks a lot

Thank you very much for your quick reply.

Is this AX72 Pro brand new, or was it working fine with the Fiber Gateway GR141DG before?

If you connect the AX72 Pro's WAN port to the gigabit LAN port, will they negotiate at 1000Mbps correctly?

If it still negotiates at 100Mbps only, I would suggest contacting the local technical support to confirm if the WAN port is faulty and if they can help with a replacement.

Hi Kevin,

I recently received a new AX72 Pro router on Saturday and began setting it up. Unfortunately, I've been unable to achieve speeds above 100 Mbps.

The issue does not appear to be related to the ISP router port, as I have tested various configurations and ports. Here are the troubleshooting methods I’ve tried:

  1. Direct connection with a Cat 5e Ethernet cable – did not work.
  2. Direct connection with a Cat 8 Ethernet cable – did not work.
  3. Configuring the router as an Access Point – did not work.
  4. Setting port negotiation to 1000 Mbps – connection lost (tested with both 1 Gbps and 2.5 Gbps ports).
  5. Resetting and reconfiguring the router – did not work.

Interestingly, when I use the same configurations with an older Wi-Fi 6 Access Point (Huawei OptiXstar K562e), I immediately achieve 1000 Mbps, as indicated on the ISP router screen. However, the TP-Link router does not seem to negotiate speeds above 100 Mbps.

Please let me know if you have any additional suggestions to resolve this issue.

Best regards,

Diogo

@VictorServellon What devices are connected to the LAN 1 and LAN 3 ports? What are the specific model numbers of the adapters? Please make sure that the Ethernet adapters on both devices support Gigabit speeds.

We also recommend connecting them to other LAN ports.

Additionally, please test with Cat 5e or Cat 6 cables, ensuring they are of good quality and securely plugged into the Ethernet ports.

Re:[Troubleshooting] Speed limit to 100 Mbps

@Kevin_Z Connected via CAT 6 and the Internet Option is Locked at 100mbps despite setting it to 1000mbps full duplex. When Connecting the Same through ISP to Laptop via the cable ignoring the router getting full speed. TP link customer Service is clueless they can't find any solution.
