  @TP-Link

Dear forum members, it was nice being with you...

It was sad to see that TP-Link:

 - abandon its customers

 - don't care about correcting unacceptable errors for a mesh system,

After years of problems & swearings, I found the definitive solution.

I finally threw the deco S7 in the bin and bought a new mesh system.

Ps I switched to Fritz!Mesh

 Wow!!!!!

 More expensive but an epochal turning point.

 I recommend it to everyone. top software and applications, maximum configuration, works great with HomeAssistant and even the Mesh is definitely better, another planet.

 Goodbye TP-Link

  @TP-Link I also find this astounding that this LAN not working without WAN issue hasn't been addressed in such a long time, including on high-end devices like the BE95. Is there any plan to fix this in the near future?

I highly doubt that this will ever be fixed... they never reply!

After going through 4 models since 2021, none of the them have included the option to turn off the auto wan/lan switching... I originaly got these stupid deco systems thinking that it would integrate nicely with my tapo iot devices but whenever the internet drops out, my wired iot devices suddenly disconnect, which is annoying... Every deco model advertises up to "hundereds of devices" but with just 50 wifi clients at home, even the be65 requires reboots every week...

Its a shame that tp-link prioritizes releasing new products and marketing them rather than improving the firmware of the existing or even the new products....

Well, I do reply.

And the 1.3.0 firmware here has supported fixing the WAN port:

Deco BE65/BE63/BE11000_V2_1.3.0 Added DoH & DoT, Speed Limit and Internet Backup

Best regards.

  @jpt95

Hi, Deco BE95 is also planned to support fixing the WAN port.

If you don't mind, could you please send an email to support.forum@tp-link.com?

The engineer might be able to find us a workaround first.

Best regards.

Hi, the 1.3.0 hasn't been officially released.

Based on the user feedback, it is a great firmware that can't be missed, and it has also added many other new features, like DoH/DoT and Internet Backup.

Best regards.

  @David-TP

1.9.1 firmware on a deco M5 definitely does NOT allow fixing of the WAN port and definitely does shutdown if the broadband connection is lost (phrased this way as my M5's are configured as access points not routers and therefore I have another device as a router)

Almost 5 years to get a response from TP-Link. Then they promise it's fixed, then they say the fix is not yet officially released. Don't bother waiting. TP-Link still call it a "feature request". They're not interested in fixing it. Vote with your wallet and buy something else.
