1.7.3 is the perfect firmware. 3 weeks in this version and 0 disconnects, no beacon losts on my linux server and the max stability and speed for a IPQ4019 Qualcomm processor.
Thanks, for the Tp-Link Engineers team!

Before firmware 1.7.3, my best Speedtest result I ever got for smartphone connected to M5 was 475Mbps, on gigabit Internet. After 1.7.3 upgrade, tested with the same smartphone, I've got 530Mbps. Which is quite an improvement.
On wireless? or Speedtest from deco app (lan speed)?
On wireless. Not LAN speed.

My two M5's upgraded automatically on Saturday. Seems like auto upgrade function works and networks works like charm as it used to be before 1.7.3.
Thank you TP-Link, five years with M5 and still very satisfied with product.

Confirmed the lowered throughput issue is caused by firmware 1.7.3 Build 20230906
I just downgraded my Deco M5 with 1.7.1 Build 20230608, both download & upload throughput are back to normal as before.

@TP-Link two of my three M5 updated perfectly through the app, but one remains on 1.7.1. The app tried a few times to update the one M5 remaining, but the update failed every time. Now the app is simply ignoring the M5 stuck on 1.7.1.
I tried a manual update via the IP address, but the screen asks for a password which the document states in the email address used to set up the account, but this doesn't work, neither does the wifi password, so I am stuck.
How do I go about updating my last M5, or is this impossible now?

Hi All,
After upgrade my Deco M5 to 1.7.3 Build 20230906, I found that both download and upload throughput are becoming obviously lower.
Before upgrade, tested with SpeedTest or Fast.com it was 300Mbps, but after upgrade to 1.7.3 it becomes around 100Mbps.... ![]()
I verified the CPE throughput with Ethernet connection, it's still 300Mbps, so I'm sure that it's Deco M5's problem.
I'm just wondering if anyone encounter the same issue with me?
Thanks.
