I understand your point but given that updating Deco appears to be such a low priority and features really need to be improved to support basic functions like guest network security in access point mode by supporting vlan etc, wpa3 support, scheduled optimisation and so on.
Providing openwrt for those who want to go that way would improve the life of the router and actually increase the Market for those who want openwrt support. It has more frequent updates and keeps pace with security patches.

@brooklyn27 Thanks for the suggestion.
It would be a nice thing to support OpenWRT but users might need certain networking knowledge about Linux operating system. Also, a spare router is needed so that you can experiment without having to worry about your 'live' network. The warranty service about the product would also be a problem when it comes to OpenWRT.
Thank you very much.
Best regards.

@David-TP Here's a thought
why not support the efforts to port deco m5 to open-wrt then the community can support this device ongoing and regular updates will then occur and features will be better
i have old tp link routers working really well on open wrt

Hi, thank you all for the time and patience. All the replies in this post will be viewed daily and normally I am reluctant to make statements for future plans since I could not guarantee everything is expected. But it is clear that the firmware will be released this year.
The latest news is that It is planned to be released at the end of next week and as mentioned before, we don't tend to delay the firmware and keep users holding on again and again. Please take the date as a reference and make proper decisions.
Thank you very much.
Best regards.

@TP-Link Just pressed update deco for the last time tonight. 2x ASUS ZenWiFi Pro XT12's coming tomorrow. Can't wait to forget about this useless, forgotten about beta program that has severely reduced my user experience and sanity. Some poor sap is going to end up with 5 mesh devices that will never be properly supported. Good luck to the rest of you..
