Hello,
It seems that the Parental Control is not working for the Guest Network. I have a profile with some devices set to the main network and it works ok but if one of the devices connects to the Guest network the parental control does not work at all. Is this a bug? If not, how can I apply parental control to the guest network? I'm using Deco M5 with 1.6.1.

Good day,
May I know which settings in the parental control did not work, content filtering, or time limits/bedtime?
I used to see feedback that the device might change its MAC address when trying to connect to a different network. In this way, they will be considered as two different clients. So the original parental control would no longer work.
Best regards.

Hello,
after some tests it seems to be the iOS "private wi-fi address" that constantly changes the MAC address of the connected iOS devices. There is a similar approach in Android devices. I didn't search extensively about the issue to understand when the device changes the MAC address but when it connects to another network like the guest network, it sure changes address.
Disabling the "private wi-fi address" in the settings, under the connected wifi network info, does solve the issue, fixing the original MAC address of the device's wifi interface.
This is a problem that I do not see how can be solved, as the child - object of the parental control - can easily change this configuration, returning to private MAC, eliminating the parental control completely.

@TP-Link I've already updated the firmware of all Deco in the network but when I go to the APP>CLIENTS>SELECTED CLIENT, there was no gear icon on the upper right corner. Can you let me know how I can I make this show so I can choose the preferred deco to connect to?
Thank you.

Hi, In the Mesh Network, except Deco M5, do you have any other models?
It is very likely that some models in the Mesh do not support customizing connection references yet.
Best regards.

@TP-Link Anyone else run into an issue with the auto-reboot on 1.61 periodically failing and requiring a manual reset? This doesn't happen every time, but I have my system set to reboot daily, 5am, and at least once a week, the only Deco that comes back online is the main with all aux deco's offline. Rebooting the network in the app will get things going again BUT only a manual power cycle will prevent it from happening repeatedly day after day.

@XWEBNetwork Yes this happened to me over the weekend. Reboot every Sunday morning at 5am. Woke up and all decos were blinking red. If I only had the main deco active, it would turn green. As soon as I added additional decos via ethernet, the entire system went down. I didn't think of power cycling all the decos. I ended up recreating a new network.

@Voices Do you have Samsung TVs by chance?
I'm actually using these Deco's (15 of them) at my inn and we have exclusively Samsung TVs. Turns out Samsung TVs are notorious for broadcasting themselves as "localhost" on the network, which is a networking travesty.
So, I manually set the device names to something super simple, RM101, RM102, etc and then assigned static IPs to each TV. Also set them to use Google DNS at 8.8.8.8.
Network has been exponentially more stable, reboots haven't failed in about 3 weeks, no connectivity issues with certain devices...absolutely mindblowing.
Fun Fact: Samsung has known about this issue for a very long time apparently and never rectified it. Nice.

Any chance we will see Ethernet backhauling work over a PTP? My current setup is Modem > M5 (Main) >CPE210 (client mode)> M5 (Satellite). In another building about 100 feet away from my house I have a TP-Link CPE210 in client picking up the WiFi from the Main M5. Then Ethernet from the CPE210 to the Satellite M5. In testing the CPE does provide wired internet to the Satellite M5 if setting up brand new but if I set it up first wireless as a Mesh / Satellite of the Main M5 and then plug it it into the Ethernet on the CPE it does not do Ethernet backauling.
