@Kevin_Z I'm having these exact issues on my AX21. Service rep suggested I try the beta firmware but I cannot for the life of me figure out how to expand the file on a Mac. Am I missing something obvious? Would love to try updating to the beta firmware to see if it might help with this particularly frustrating issue.

My recently (8 days ago) purchased Archer AX20 V2.0 is exhibiting the same issues as mentioned in this thread.  However the Internet disconnects are predicable.  Exactly every 4 hours my internet connection drops, and I reboot or power cycle the router for another 4 hours of Internet.  I will try updating the firmware with some of those suggested in the thread.  My current firmware version is 2.1.2 Build 20210901 rel.75450(4341). Any suggestion as to which of the version listed in this thread to use?

Thanks

Azzz

@Azzz Hello, please verify the hardware version of your Archer AX20 first, be sure that if it is an EU version or a US version, you can find it on the device sticker, which couls show you Archer AX20(US) or Archer AX20(EU). Then you can choose the correct firmware to install.

Hello @mweller, you can google "how to unzip file on mac", then you should find the guidance to extract the file, then follow the guide below to upload it into the router:

https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/688/

Please let me know if you can make it work.

@Kevin_Z Right, I understand how to unzip a file, it just seems like the BIN format isn't compatible with Macs. The built in Archive Utility can't recognize/unzip the format, and I've tried several third party expanders (WinZip, Stuffit Expander, etc.) and none of them can get the file open. Is there any other way to access the beta firmware updates? I'm looking specifically for the AX21 v1.2 update.

My router has dropped its connection several times in the last 12 hours and it's getting extremely frustrating to deal with. I really don't want to have to wait for you to push out the official update if it's truly a week or more away.

@mweller You only need to extract ZIP archive. BIN file is the firmware file which you're supposed to select when updating firmware of the router.

Just go to System -> Firmware Upgrade, scroll down and click on Browse. Then you're supposed to select that BIN file, click Upgrade and follow the instructions.

@user30 THANK YOU! The rep I chatted with either didn't understand this or was doing a very poor job of communicating this step with me. I was able to update my AX21 to the beta firmware and am cautiously optimistic about seeing some improvement now.

@Kevin_Z

My hardware version is neither US or EU but AX20(CA). I will try the US version first and see how it works out.

 Thanks

I also have the AX20(CA) V2.0.  I specifically asked which file to use and senior enginner said to use the US version, which is what I did.  Firmware updated fine, but the router is now completely useless.  After updating the firmware, and rebooting, the internet light on router is immediately orange.  Release/Renew IP does nothing, power cycle does nothing.  IP address remains 0.0.0.0.  I've been waiting 3 days for a reply from tech support and have received nothing.

Hello @Yodameister, I suggest you contact the local tech support for some help if there is no internet on the router now, as the email communication may not be real-time and there could be some delay. I will also confirm this with the engineers.

Try a factory reset if all else fails. Good luck
