  @David-TP any way to open the firmware installer and do some custom install?

For everybody landing here from google:
Just return your device and go to a different manufacturer, tp link slided down in the sewers.

Hi,

Just buying a brand new XE75 after years of Orbi. I start to configure it ... Missing the web UI is for me a showstopper ...

I will return it and keep on with Netgear for this reason.

How a top brand on this segment can be so far away from the standard of the industry. Understood you want to target the mass market but for adavnced users which are basically promoters to non-educated users  this is quite non acceptable.

Cheers, see you maybe in an alternative future with a web UI.

  @TP-Link To all of you:

You should be starting to understand that tp-link  does not give a rats rear end about your problems with this junk.

If they did they would not have produced a product with a head end that is incapable of producing a network configuration unless you have a smart phone that they can spy on AND a cable internet connection.

If you bought this junk looking to set up an offline office or home network for file and printer sharing you bought the WRONG productt, because unless they can spy on you this does not work!

  @TP-Link How much more spam do we need until one of your product manager will decide to implement this?

  @Faaa_ As we have all learned, they do NOT CARE.

As long as they can incorporate their spyware into thousands of cellphones , they are doing what the intend to do.

Provide a web-based configuration, like all other manufacturers do!

  @TP-Link

I can only echo what so many others have stated. I bought a couple of the XE75s looking for an affordable mesh router, and I've been reasonably happy with the hardware, but it is really a shame that users are required to use smart phone app to do any real configuration of the network. I would really appreciate a legitimate web browser option. tplinkdeco.net isn't really worthwile.

It's less usable and less secure to manage the router over WiFi than over a wired connection. For better security it's best to have an option to only allow configuration over a wired connection rather than WiFi, although for ease of initial setup WiFi can be enabled. Forcing a specific MobileApp instead of a common WebUI is a deal-breaker. This WiFi router came with my ISP subscription but I'll use a different one until the X50 has a common WebUI available.
